You have heard that it was said, “You shall not commit adultery.”

You have heard that it was said,  “ You shall not commit adultery. ”   Matthew 5:27-28  “ Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.. ” In Exodus 20, the Ten Commandments were given, and in verse 14, it was said not to commit adultery. Accordingly, when adultery was committed, Deuteronomy 22:22-24 states, "If a man is found lying with a married woman, both of them shall die, the man who lay with her and the woman. You shall purge the evil from Israel. If a virgin woman is betrothed to a man, and a man finds her in the city and lies with her, you shall take them both out to the gate of your city and stone them to death. The virgin, because she did not cry out while she was in the city, and the man, because he humbled his neighbor's wife. Thus you shall purge the evil from your midst." Based on this co...

The righteousness which is of faith

The righteousness which is of faith   Romans 10:6  『 But the righteousness which is of faith speaks on this wisdom, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) 』 『  The righteousness which is of faith  』  means that the believer believes that he or she died with Jesus on the cross, received forgiveness of sins, and was resurrected with the resurrected Christ. If the believer believes that he or she received forgiveness of sins through the death of Jesus, but does not believe that he or she is united with the resurrection of Christ and ascends to heaven in the present. If this happens, it is the same as trying to bring down Christ who ascended to heaven. Before Jesus was resurrected, no one had ascended to heaven. John 3:13  “ No one has ascended to heaven except He who came down from heaven, the Son of Man who is in heaven. ”  Who is the  “ Son of Man who came down from heaven ” ? Coming...

Do not muzzle the ox that treads out the grain

Do not muzzle the ox that treads out the grain   1 Corinthians 9:5-10  『 Do we not have the right to take along with us the other apostles and the brothers of the Lord and Cephas, our sisters in the faith? Or do I and Barnabas not have the right not to work? Who will serve in the army at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat its fruit? Who tends a flock and does not drink the milk of the flock? Do I speak this according to human customs? Or does not the law also say this? In the law of Moses it is written,  ‘ You shall not muzzle the ox that treads out the grain. ’  Does God take care of the oxen? Does he not speak for our sakes? Indeed, it was written for our sakes, that the one who plows should plow in hope, and the one who threshes should thresh in hope of being partakers. 』 Deuteronomy 25:4 "You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain." It is natural for an ox to eat while plowing the field. Whether it is a soldier or a...

Gethsemane Prayer

Gethsemane Prayer   John 17:11  『 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name(En to onomati number) those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. 』 Jesus died on the cross and returned to the original kingdom of God. The disciples are in the world, and they ask to be preserved in the name of the Father.  『 En to onomati su ( ἐ ν   τ ῷ   ὀ ν ό ματ ί   σου ) 』  means to be preserved in the name (ho logos) that you possess. Those who are in Christ, the Word, are being preserved by God the Father. That is why the saints become one with God, and the saints become one with each other. This is the theory of the Trinity. John 17:14  『 I have given them thy word (ton logon number); and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 』 Those who live by the word of Ho Logos (those who believe in the cross and ...

In order to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit

In order to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit   Baptism is a ritual of going into water and coming out. In John 3:5, Jesus said,  “ Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot see the kingdom of God. ”  Water does not mean washing away sins, but symbolizes the death of the body of sin. In other words, going into water means dying in union with Jesus who died on the cross. In Romans 6:4,  “ Therefore we were buried with him through baptism into death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, even so we too should walk in newness of life. ” Coming out of the water symbolizes resurrection. Romans 6:5 says,  “ For if we have been united with him in the likeness of his death, we will certainly also be united with him in the likeness of his resurrection. ”  Being united with resurrection is called the baptism of the Holy Spirit. However, those who are baptized today do not know exactly about the ...

God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.   Mark 12:26-27 『 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err. 』 This article is a quote from Exodus 3:15,  “ And God said moreover to Moses, thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. 』 The people of Israel cried out to God in Egypt. So the Lord God said that He heard their cry. When God made a covenant with Abraham, He promised land and descendants, and He continued this covenant with Isaac and Jacob. The Lord God shows that He is not someone who forgets a covenant after making it, but someone who f...

Beware of false prophets and false teachers.

Beware of false prophets and false teachers.   1. The story of the fallen angel 2 Peter 2:4  『 For if God spared not (Epeisato) the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell (Tartarosas), and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment. 』 Episato ( ἐ φε ί σατο ) means not sparing. Tartarus ( ταρταρ ώ σα ς ) means after being thrown into prison. Regarding the angels who sinned, it is the same concept as the angels who did not keep their positions in Jude 1:6. They are those who wanted to be like God and opposed God. It is because they had a greed in their hearts to become like God. This story is the same story as the incident of eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden. The reason why the story of evil angels comes up as the story of the Gnostics suddenly unfolds is because the judgment of those who advocate Gnosticism is like God not forgiving the angels who sinned, but throwing them into prison a...
